Privacy,
plainly stated.
Effective October 5, 2026
This policy explains how Frontier Wing Gaming handles information through the Frontier Wing Gaming website and the Frontier Gaming Network mobile application.
Public use and accounts
Public visitors do not need an account. The website and app provide public community news, gallery items, games, staff profiles, livestream status, events, and links to community services. Accounts are limited to authorized staff who administer that public content.
Information we process
- Public visitors: routine server logs may include an IP address, request time, requested page, browser or device details, and error information.
- Notifications: if you opt in, we store an Expo push token and device platform to deliver community announcements.
- Staff: we store the staff member's name, email address, role, securely hashed password, login-session records, and security audit records.
- Uploads and posts: staff-submitted news, captions, and gallery images are stored so they can be published. Uploaded images may contain information visible in the image or its file metadata.
- Rust player reports: reports submitted through a participating Rust server may include the reporter's Steam ID and name, report subject and message, report category, reported player's ID and name, server and in-game location details, play time, device or system diagnostics supplied by Rust, and an optional screenshot.
- Messages to us: if you contact the community through Discord or another linked service, that service and the people you contact receive the information you choose to provide.
Cookies and similar technologies
Frontier Wing Gaming does not use first-party advertising or analytics cookies and does not build advertising profiles. Staff authentication in the mobile app uses a secure access token stored in the device's protected storage. Staff who sign in through the website receive a strictly necessary fwg_staff_session authentication cookie. It is restricted to the website API, marked Secure, HttpOnly, and SameSite=Strict, expires after 30 days, and is removed when staff sign out. The browser interface does not store the staff access token in JavaScript-accessible local storage.
The Frontier Wing Gaming community forum, powered by Discourse, uses necessary cookies and similar storage to keep members signed in, protect accounts, remember preferences, prevent abuse, and operate forum features. Blocking these cookies may prevent sign-in or other forum functions. We do not use forum cookies for third-party targeted advertising.
Pages containing Twitch players or the Discord server widget connect to those third-party services when the embedded content loads. Twitch and Discord may receive your IP address and browser or device information and may use cookies or local storage according to their own policies. You can block third-party cookies in your browser, although embedded streams, chat, or the Discord widget may not work correctly.
Community forum
The community forum at forum.frontierwinggaming.network is powered by Discourse. If you register or participate, the forum may process your username, email address, password hash or external sign-in identifier, profile details, IP address, device and browser information, login history, preferences, private messages, posts, reactions, flags, and other activity you choose to provide.
We use forum information to create and secure accounts, display member contributions, send requested account or discussion notifications, personalize forum preferences, moderate discussions, investigate abuse, enforce community rules, and maintain service reliability. Public posts and profile details you choose to publish may be visible to anyone and may appear in search engines.
Forum records are retained while an account or contribution remains active and as reasonably needed for moderation, security, backups, dispute resolution, and legal obligations. Members can manage many profile, email, and notification settings from their forum account. Requests to access, correct, anonymize, or delete forum account information can be made through the contact method below; some public contributions or security records may be retained or anonymized where necessary to preserve discussion integrity and prevent abuse.
How we use information
We use information to operate and secure the website and app, authenticate staff, publish community content, deliver notifications you request, diagnose failures, review Rust server reports, enforce community rules, prevent abuse, and maintain reliable community services. We do not sell personal information, rent mailing lists, or use personal information for targeted advertising.
Service providers and external services
Our services may use or link to Expo, Twitch, Discord, Discourse, service-status pages, hosting and reverse-proxy infrastructure, and official game websites. These providers may process information on our behalf or under their own privacy policies. Opening an external third-party link leaves Frontier Gaming Network.
Sharing
We share information only as needed to operate the services described above, comply with a valid legal obligation, investigate misuse, protect the community or our systems, or complete a service transition. Public posts and gallery uploads are visible to anyone once published.
Retention and security
Notification tokens remain until disabled, replaced, or removed during maintenance. Website staff authentication cookies and their corresponding server-side sessions expire after 30 days unless ended sooner by signing out, changing access, or administrative action. Other staff account, session, and audit records are retained while needed for administration and security. Rust reports are accessible only to authorized staff and are retained while reasonably needed to investigate the report, enforce community rules, maintain an abuse history, or meet security and legal needs; authorized administrators can delete reports when they are no longer needed. Public content remains until authorized staff remove it. Routine logs are retained only as long as reasonably needed for security, troubleshooting, and service operation.
We use access controls, password hashing, encrypted HTTPS connections, and other reasonable safeguards. No online system can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and requests
- Disable mobile notifications at any time in your device settings.
- Block or clear cookies and site storage using your browser settings.
- Manage forum profile, email, and notification preferences from your forum account.
- Contact staff about access to, correction of, or deletion of a Rust report associated with your Steam identity, subject to moderation, security, and legal recordkeeping needs.
- Avoid loading embedded Twitch or Discord content by leaving the page or blocking third-party content.
- Ask about, correct, or request deletion of information associated with a staff account or notification token, subject to security and recordkeeping needs.
Children
The website and app are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Contact
For privacy questions or requests, contact Frontier Wing Gaming through the official Discord server. Please do not post passwords, access tokens, or other sensitive information in public channels.
